About Dr. Wasserman
Dr. Wasserman of The Pain Treatment Center of Greater Washington is board certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, board certified in Pain Medicine, certified by The American Board of Pain Medicine, and is also certified by the U.S. DEA in buprenorphine office-based medical management of opioid addiction.

Dr. Wasserman's Specialties
Dr. Wasserman specializes specifically in medication-based management of intractable chronic pain as well as buprenorphine management of opioid addiction. Therefore, Dr. Wasserman does NOT treat chronic pain using injection or surgical techniques.

Dr. Wasserman is recognized throughout the United States as an expert in the field of medication management of severe chronic pain, and has given over 200 lectures throughout the United States on various topics related to medication management of intractable chronic pain, sleep disorder as it relates to chronic pain, fibromyalgia, neuropathic pain, and in opioid addiction.
Dr. Wasserman is an expert in medication management of all types of chronic pain syndromes, including fibromyalgia, chronic low back pain, “failed back syndrome”, chronic neck pain, migraine and other types of headaches, chronic pelvic pain including vulvodynia and interstitial cystitis, and chronic neuropathic pain/neuropathy pain.
Dr. Wasserman has a special interest in treating chronic pelvic pain, and serves on the Medical Advisory Board of The National Vulvodynia Association.
Dr. Wasserman received his B.A from The University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, MI, his medical degree (M.D.) from The University of Cincinnati in Cincinnati, Ohio, and his residency training in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at The University of Chicago.
